Party leaders must highlight Sabah govt's achievements, says CM

KOTA KINABALU: Many are unaware of the Sabah government's achievements despite its efforts to develop the state, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

"There are many initiatives and successes that we haven't yet communicated effectively. Some people are not even aware of them.

"So, this is their responsibility. They must clarify the government's achievements to the people, what has been done and how the poor have been helped, among other things."

Hajiji, who is also president of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah, was explaining the purpose of the one-day programme for the party's information leaders held today at the Sabah International Convention Centre here.

He added that the party leaders should also highlight the investment value and the thousands of job opportunities created since his party and the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah coalition took office.

"Secondly, they must counter the slander and lies spreading on social media. This also needs to be addressed.

"Otherwise, people will believe things that are not true. So, it is the responsibility of the heads of information at all levels."

He added that the current government's term will last until October next year, thus it was normal to call for a course to ensure everything was in order and prepare the machinery to face the upcoming election.
