TUARAN: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has approved the scholarship application from opposition leader Datuk Mohd Azis Jaman for his child.
Hajiji said this move showed that the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah-Pakatan Harapan coalition government was fair to everyone regardless of political alliances.
"(Warisan information chief) Azis Jaman had applied for a scholarship for his child, and I approved it.
"I was fair when he and his wife came to see me at the office.
"I believe the children must be helped, so we approved the scholarship for him.
I never think only about my party members, but about for everyone.
"There are also children of other opposition leaders who have received assistance. I couldn't ignore them.
"We do not seek revenge, nor do we pressure anyone, even though we are the government."
He said this while officiating the annual meeting of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah's Sulaman division here.
Hajiji, who is Gagasan Rakyat president, urged grassroots leaders to act justly.
"Those in need should be helped, regardless of their background."
