Search for missing mentally disabled man enters 11th day in Lipis

LIPIS: The search for mentally disabled Rosdan Mat has entered its eleventh day today.

The search-and-rescue (SAR) operation members have covered an 8km radius on foot from where the 52-year-old from Kampung Redan, Mela near here was reported missing since June 28.

District police chief Superintendent Ismail Man said the SAR team comprising more than 50 members from the Fire and Rescue department, police and villagers were also joined by police K9 tracker dogs.

"We have only recovered a red necklace which Rosdan was believed to be wearing before he was reported missing. The SAR members were divided into several teams which covered different sections of the forest.

"Currently, our focus is the forest area near Rosdan's house where the red necklace was found but to date we have not found any other clues. The SAR operation will continue until June 12 (Saturday)," he said, adding Rosdan was last seen by family members on June 26.

Ismail said Rosdan's family members told police that he has been suffering mental health issues since he was 14 years old.

He said those with information on the missing man can contact the Lipis police headquarters at 09-3121999 or any nearest police station.

Rosdan had been reported missing since June 28 after his brother-in-law who went to his unnumbered house at Kampung Redan about 8am could not locate him.
