SEGAMAT: A family of eight cheated death when the car they were traveling in skidded and crashed into a tree by the roadside at Felda Pemanis, Jalan Segamat-Kuantan, here today (July 9).
A 35-year-old man, who was behind the wheel, suffered bodily injuries after he was trapped in the mangled Toyota Camry due to the impact of the crash.
The man's 34-year-old wife and six other passengers, aged between two and 17, escaped the accident unharmed.
Segamat Fire and Rescue Department Operations Commander Mansor Mohamad said a team was deployed to the scene after they were alerted to the accident at 2.09pm
Mansor said the operation to rescue the victims ended about an hour later, after all of them were extracted from the vehicle to safety and the site was cleared of debris.
