KUALA LUMPUR: Brickfields police senior officers today paid an official visit to the Media Prima Bhd headquarters in Balai Berita, Bangsar, here, today.
The visit was aimed at establishing a collaborative platform between Media Prima Bhd and Brickfields police to ensure safety in the area and to facilitate effective coordination in future.
The two-hour visit, including a tour of Media Prima Bhd's headquarters, was led by Brickfields police Assistant Commissioner Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood who met with Media Prima's top leadership.
Accompanying him were deputy district police chief Superintendent Ahmad Firdaus Mustaffa Kamal, Deputy Superintendent Ahmad Khairy Haroon Arashid, Assistant Superintendent Md Zaidi Affendi Md Zali and Inspector Yee Chin Loong.
They were welcomed by Media Prima Bhd group chairman Datuk Seri (Dr) Syed Hussian Aljunid, group managing director Rafiq Razali, group chief financial officer of Media Prima Rosli Sabarudin and group general manager of the Corporate Communications Department of Media Prima, Azlan Abdul Aziz and head group general manager of Corporate Administration Services, Shahidir Hasbullah.
Also present were Harian Metro Group Editor Husain Jahit and New Straits Times Executive Editor, Content and Digital, Sharanjit Singh.
Ku Mashariman said the visit was crucial in evaluating how Media Prima Bhd would operate at Balai Berita in Bangsar in the future and to enhance security in the area.
"Previously, Balai Berita was assessed from a security perspective as the police were informed of Media Prima's downsizing and all its operations relocating here to Balai Berita, Bangsar.
"The police are responsible for the security aspects when the relocation happens, making this area a key target for security," he told reporters today at the end of the tour.
He added that the visit was beneficial and provided the police with a forward plan to enhance security within the area and emphasised the importance of a proactive approach to ensure a smooth and secure transition for Media Prima's operations.
"The presence of the head of the Pantai police station, Inspector Yee, is crucial, given that Media Prima's new location falls under their jurisdiction.
"This familiarisation tour ensures that any future security concerns at Media Prima here will be efficiently managed at the station level," he added.
