City police chief visits NSTP Balai Berita to enhance ties [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: City police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa visited the NSTP Balai Berita here today (Oct 7).

Accompanied by his deputy, Datuk Azry Akmar Ayob, Rusdi was greeted by Media Prima Group Chairman Datuk Seri (Dr) Syed Hussian Aljunid.

Rusdi said he hoped to build on the close relationship between the members of the media and Kuala Lumpur police.

"I am here today with my deputy, heads of departments and district police chiefs. Through this visit, we get a chance to dive a bit deeper into what goes on behind the scenes in the newsroom," he said in his speech on Monday.

He said more importantly, he hoped to strengthen the cooperation that has been built over the past.

"We hope the visit will improve our relationship further. It is meaningful to us," he said.

During his visit, Rusdi was given a tour of the building, which is currently being renovated. He was also given the opportunity to play the role of a newscaster, and read the news when he visited the TV3 studio.

Media Prima Group Chief Financial Officer Rosli Sabarudin, Media PrimaTelevision Networks Deputy Group Editor, News & Current Affairs Azhari Muhidin, New Straits Times Group Editor Farrah Naz Abd Karim, Harian Metro Group Editor Husain Jahit and Berita Harian Deputy Group Editor Thillinadan Muniandy were present to accompany Rusdi and his entourage during the visit.
