Video of groom tearing at wedding touches netizen's hearts

TAPAH: Ahmad Nazirul Safwan Ahmad Yusuf couldn't hold back his tears after he got married recently, and the scenes of him crying during the ceremony caught the attention of netizens after he shared them on TikTok.

The video has since garnered four million views, with netizens wishing the couple happiness.

Sharing the story behind the picture, Ahmad Naziful Safwan, 32, said, he grew up without a mother's love because she died when he was just four months old.

"Remembering my mother made me cry a lot during the wedding ceremony.

"I am grateful that I finally met a woman who I can share my love with," he said.

Ahmad Nazirul Safwan, who works as a truck driver, said he met his wife, Nurul Azira Ahmad, 24, in February last year.

They were married on May 25 with the blessing of both their families.

Ahmad Nazirul Safwan said he met his wife met through a dating application and they became friends.

"I saved money to prove that I was serious and thankfully my wife accepted my proposal," he said.

Ahmad Nazirul Safwan said his intention was to upload pictures during the marriage ceremony to share memories of a happy day.

"I didn't think there would be many compliments. Some even said I didn't choose my partner based on her appearance.

"Honestly, It does not matter to me as I am aware that I have my shortcomings too.

"It is true that some have tried to disparage us, but I ignore the negative comments and accept the positive ones because there are still many people who are praying for us," he said.

Meanwhile, Nurul Azira said she thought Ahmad Nazirul Safwan was only joking when he expressed his desire to marry her because her husband liked to make jokes.

"But, he proved he was serious when he brought his father and stepmother to ask for my hand in marriage.

"Before I met my husband, I was rejected by a few men who were too embarrased to be seen with my dark-skinned self.

"I accepted my husband because he is soft-spoken and kind to me and the family," she said.
