KUALA LUMPUR: While most parents would prefer to keep their newborn baby indoors until they are at least one year old, one young father, known only as Hazwan on TikTok, does just the opposite by taking his nine-month-old daughter hiking with him.
The hiking enthusiast, who vlogs about his hiking trips, recently shared a video of him and his baby Hana hiking up the Sri Bintang Hill trail.
In the vlog, Hazwan is seen safely putting Hana into a child carrier backpack before they embark on the trail. The little one, who appears to be enjoying the hike, rides on her father's back without any fuss. This is apparently her second hike with Hazwan.
Typically, toddlers would kick up a fuss, cry, or be grumpy when placed in such an environment, exposed to the heat, rough terrain, and insect bites.
However, Hana is unaffected by all of that and keeps smiling at the camera whenever her father calls her name.
In the video, Hazwan is seen stopping at a few checkpoints before reaching the peak with baby Hana.
At the peak, he takes her out of the carrier, feeds her milk from a bottle, grabs a bite for himself, and prepares to descend.
On the way up the trail, a few hikers engage in conversation with him, asking about the baby.
Finally, when the father-daughter pair reach the starting point, Hazwan ends the vlog by saying Hana has fallen asleep.
The video has garnered over 115,000 likes and nearly a million views in less than a month.
Comments have poured in, with many netizens praising the baby for her obedience and questioning if she has ever experienced any supernatural disturbances after such hikes.
Among those who commented was user DynFsl, who wondered if Hana had been bitten by mosquitoes.
Hazwan replied that he normally applies lotion to her before starting the hike.
User Nikseandil also commented that Hana is so easy to take care of and remains calm.
