Elmina crash final report out by Aug 16

KUALA LUMPUR: The final report of the Elmina crash will be released by Aug 16 this year.

In a parliamentary written reply yesterday, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the draft of the final report was completed and released on June 14.

"The draft final report was sent for review and comment to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), the Accident/Incident Data Reporting (Adrep) system of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), Koperasi Amanah Pelaburan Bhd (KAPB) as the owner of the ill-fated aircraft and Jet Valet Sdn Bhd as the operator of the aircraft.

"The final report will be out latest by Aug 16, after 60 days of the draft final report received, after review and comments from NTSB, CAAM, Adrep ICAO, KAPB and Jet Valet," he said, in response to Datuk Seri Ismail Abd Muttalib (PN-Maran).

Ismail inquired about the latest developments of the investigation into the plane crash near a residential area in Elmina, Section U16, Shah Alam last year, which claimed 10 lives; eight passengers onboard including Pahang's Pelangai state assemblyman the late Datuk Seri Johari Harun, and two on the ground motorists who were struck by the aircraft.

The six-seater aircraft registered as N28JV departed from Langkawi International Airport on Aug 17 and crashed en route to the Sultan Abdul Aziz Airport in Subang.
