Family of four crash bike into electricity pole in Jerantut, father and son killed

JERANTUT: A carpenter along with his six-year-old son were killed after their motorcycle crashed into an electric pole at Km18 of Jalan Jerantut-Temerloh near Simpang Bukit Ketupat here yesterday.

His 28-year-old wife and another son, aged four, who were travelling on the same motorcycle sustained injuries in the 8.30pm mishap.

The deceased has been identified as Muhamad Isyam Abdullah Sani, 43, and his son Muhammad Aisy Afnan.

Jerantut police chief Superintendent Zukri Muhammad said investigations revealed the family of four were returning to their rented house at Taman Bukit Ketupat after visiting some relatives.

"Isyam Abdullah is believed to have lost control of his Yamaha Ego Avantiz motorcycle before it swerved towards the left side of the road and crashed into the electricity pole.

"The motorcyclist and Aisy Afnan sustained severe injuries and died at the scene while his wife and another son was taken to Jerantut hospital for treatment," he said in a statement today.

Zukri said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
