Police to work with RTD to address traffic congestion in Kajang

KAJANG: Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said police will discuss with the Road Transport Department to address road congestion issues in this district, following several complaints.

"I met several customers who raised concerns about road congestion in Bangi, particularly involving cars and commercial lorries.

"We will discuss with the RTD to find a solution, whether to limit the entry of commercial lorries in certain areas or consider other measures that we need to work together with threm," he said when met by the New Straits Times after "Hari Bertemu Pelanggan" (Meet the Customer Day) at Bandar Baru Bangi police station here today.

Also present were Kajang police chief Assistant Commissioner Nazron Abd Yusof and his deputy Superintendent Muhamad Nasir Drahman.

Meanwhile, Nazron said a total of 54 people from this district attended the meet-and-greet event.

Among others, they received 20 reports on road congestion, requests for patrolling in certain areas and unresolved crime reports.

"Two people expressed their gratitude for resolving their cases.

"I believe programmes like this can be expanded and will strengthen the relationship between the community and the police in Bandar Baru Bangi," he said.

The Selangor police contingent regularly holds engagement events, inviting people in the state to express their concerns directly to their local police chiefs.

Themed "Police Ready to Listen", the event will run from 9am to noon once every two months at all police headquarters.

Individuals interested in attending the event are encouraged to make an appointment via the email stated in the Selangor police Facebook page.
