Fire razes, damages 3 factories in Sg Buloh

KUALA LUMPUR: A furniture factory in Kampung Baru, Sungai Buloh, was destroyed and two other similar premises were badly damaged in a fire today.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations and firefighting) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said they received a call regarding the incident at 12.20pm.

"A total of 67 firefighters were deployed to carry out firefighting operations, from the Sungai Buloh Damansara, Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya, Klang Utara, and Bukit Jelutong fire stations.

"In addition, the firefighting operation also involved personnel from Selayang, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, and Seri Hartamas fire stations," he said in a statement.

Mukhlis said that one of the factories was fully destroyed while the remaining two factories were 60 per cent damaged.

He added that there were no casualties.
