Cops looking for two men over assault on biker, pillion rider in Klang

KLANG: Police are looking for two men in connection with an assault on a motorcyclist and his pillion rider following an accident along Jalan Dato Abdul Hamid, Taman Sentosa, here.

South Klang police chief Assistant Commissioner Cha Hoong Fong said the incident occurred at around 3.30pm on July 21.

"The complainant and his friend, aged 31 and 40, were riding a motorcycle along Jalan Dato Abdul Hamid when they were hit by a Perodua Aruz car.

"Both vehicles were damaged in the incident. Following the collision the driver of the vehicle and both men got into a heated argument," he said in a statement on Wednesday.

He said while the argument was going on, two men came in a Toyota Hilux and attacked the motorcyclist and the pillion rider.

"One of the suspects attacked both the men with a baseball bat.

"Both of them suffered bruises and swelling on their arms and legs from the attack," he said, adding that police opened an investigation under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.

He said the two suspects have been identified as 32-year-old Balamurukan Manimaran and Saravanan, in his 30's.

"We urge anyone with information on the two to contact the South Klang police at 03-3376 2222.

"We also detected one-minute-and-30-second video, believed to be a dashcam footage of the incident, which has been circulated online," he said, urging the public ro refrain from spreading the video which could cause public anxiety.
