Elderly man, son suffer burns in Klang house fire

KLANG: An elderly man and his son sustained burn injuries after two houses in Kampung Delek Baru, Klang, caught fire this morning.

The elderly man, in his 70s, sustained 40 percent burns, while his son, in his 30s, suffered 10 percent burns during the incident.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division Assistant Director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said a team was deployed to the scene after they were alerted to the fire at around 7.54am.

"One of the houses was 70 percent destroyed while the second house was 40 percent burnt in the fire," he said.

A total of three fire engines, two emergency medical rescue service vehicles, a water tanker and 22 firefighters and rescuers were sent to the scene.

"The personnel and assets were from the South Klang, North Klang and Port Klang fire stations," he said, adding that the operation was led by Mohd Hisam Mat Yasih and Mohd Al-Fadil Mat Amin.
