ALOR STAR: A 59-year-old man sustained burn injuries when a fire broke out at a motorcycle parts warehouse near the Mergong Industrial Area here today.
The victim, identified as Teow Taik Poo, suffered burns to his shoulders and back and has been admitted to hospital for treatment.
Kedah Fire and Rescue Department Zone 1 Chief Ahmad Aminudin Abd Rahim said fire engines were dispatched after receiving distress calls at 5.16pm.
"The fire involved a warehouse of approximately 300 square metres.
"One victim suffered burns to the shoulders and back.
"The man was treated by the emergency medical rescue services team and sent to the hospital for further care," he said in a statement today.
