Body of jet ski racer found in Sungai Terengganu

KUALA TERENGGANU: A jet ski racer who fell in Sungai Terengganu while testing his watercraft near Taman Tamadun Islam (TTI) was found drowned at 9.28 am today.

Deputy Kuala Terengganu Police chief Superintendent Wan Mohd Zaki Wan Ismail said his body was discovered floating about 100 metres from the incident site.

"The body was found by rescue teams conducting a search and rescue operation. It was in good condition and fully clothed," he said at the scene.

The body was then brought to the riverbank for identification before being transported to the forensic department at Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) by police vehicle for an autopsy.

Earlier it was reported that the jet ski racer was feared drowned after falling while testing the vehicle in the Terengganu River near TTI at 8am yesterday.

Professional jet ski racer Abdullah Abdul Mubin, 44, was reportedly testing the jet ski alone when he fell after making several laps.
