KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Mohd Rizwadi Ismail conveyed his best wishes to Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani, who won the Nenggiri by-election yesterday.
In a Facebook post today, Rizwadi expressed hope that Azmawi will excel in fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to him by voters.
"To my friend, Azmawi Fikri, may you carry out the duties entrusted by the people well. May Allah ease your efforts," he said.
Meanwhile, he offered heartfelt gratitude to PN machinery which came to assist and campaign in Nenggiri.
"We can only make plans, but it is Allah who determines the outcome. Every step and effort we make will be recorded, and InshaAllah, it will serve as our provision in the hereafter.
"May we all be among the faithful and righteous," he said.
BN has captured the Nenggiri state seat after its candidate won the Nenggiri by-election last night.
BN candidate Mohd Azmawi garnered 9,091 votes, defeating Perikatan Nasional's Rizwadi who received 5,739 votes.
