KUALA NERUS: A restaurant assistant was found dead at his home in Kampung Batu Enam yesterday.
The body was discovered by his nephew at 7.50pm, and it is believed that the victim had been dead for several days.
Suhaizan Awang, 45, had repeatedly called his uncle, Hanafi Abu Bakar, 47, for dinner but received no response.
Growing concerned, he said, "I went to check on my uncle, thinking he might be asleep. When I opened the door, the room was dark, and there was an unpleasant smell."
"I tried to wake my uncle up, but he didn't move. I then called my cousin for help. We then contacted the authorities, and my uncle was confirmed to have passed away," he said, adding that the last time he saw his uncle was last Saturday.
Kuala Terengganu police chief ACP Azli Mohd Noor confirmed the incident, saying, "The case is classified as sudden death."
