Heavy rain causes landslide in Taman Bunga Raya

KUALA LUMPUR: A heavy rain in the capital today caused a landslide at Taman Bunga Raya, located along Jalan Genting Klang-Kem Wardieburn. The incident, which occurred at approximately 5.43pm, affected a house in the area, leading to the evacuation of nearby residents as a precaution.

The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Center (PGO) reported that six personnel and a fire engine from the Wangsa Maju Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were dispatched to the scene upon receiving a call about the landslide on the hillside.

"Information from the police indicated that residents of nearby houses had been instructed to evacuate as there is still ground movement," JBPM said in a statement.

Firefighters continue to monitor the situation at the site. So far, only one house has been affected, although there are other houses in close proximity.

Meanwhile, several other areas around the capital experienced flash floods due to the rising water levels of the Klang River.
