KUALA LUMPUR: Seven areas in the capital were hit by flash floods following continuous heavy rain this afternoon.
Kuala Lumpur Command & Control Centre reported that the affected locations include Segambut Bypass, Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, Jalan Pahang, Jalan Genting-Klang, and Jalan Dutamas.
"Flash floods were also reported on Jalan Kepong and Jalan Kuching," said a spokesperson.
Images of vehicles parked near the The World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) submerged in water due to the heavy rain, as well as traffic congestion on several main roads, have gone viral.
The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department's (JBPM) Operations Center (PGO) said it is continuously monitoring the situation following the flash floods.
