Rafizi defends mobile service counter initiative amid criticism

KUALA LUMPUR: Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli slammed critics who took issue with his mobile service counter initiative.

Rafizi, who is also Pandan member of parliament, deployed the mobile service counter to meet and speak with his constituents.

Some, he claimed, called for him to step down as a minister and focus on being an MP instead.

"My formula of meeting my constituents is the same old formula I've been practicing since before I became an MP.

"This is the right of the people of Pandan over me, as their representative," he wrote in a post on X.

"Why burden residents by making them come to my office to voice their problems when it is my responsibility to help them solve their daily issues?" he wrote.

He then took a swipe at his critics by saying, "This 'formula' is free, and can be used by all MPs, including the opposition".
