KUALA LUMPUR: Air Selangor is conducting regular water quality monitoring to measure the turbidity level of raw water due to the heavy rain which caused a water surge at Sungai Bernam.
In a statement today, Air Selangor said the gradual restoration of the Sungai Bernam water treatment plant is ongoing.
"Currently, the treated water balancing reservoir is being filled up and the water supply will be distributed once it reaches the required level and complies with the treated water quality standards.
"Alternative assistance through water tankers has been mobilised to the affected areas by prioritising critical premises.
"Air Selangor is making every effort to minimise the impact of disruption on affected consumers."
Yesterday, an unscheduled water supply disruption occurred in some parts of Hulu Selangor and Sabak Bernam.
Air Selangor had said this was due to the temporary shutdown at the Sungai Bernam WTP following the high cloudiness of raw water caused by a water surge in Sungai Bernam.
