KUANTAN: Four car workshops and a food outlet were entirely destroyed by a fire that broke out behind a petrol station on Jalan Teluk Sisek yesterday.

The blaze, which began at 1.55am, also partially damaged two cars – a Perodua Kenari and a Nissan Vanette. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

State Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Zulfadli Zakaria said that the department was notified of the fire at 1.58am.

Eighteen firefighters from the Kuantan, Indera Mahkota, and Taman Tas stations were dispatched to the scene.

"The fire started behind a petrol station, and our teams worked to prevent it from spreading to nearby properties," he said.

"Four car workshops, a food outlet, and a temple located within one of the premises were completely destroyed. The two vehicles were partially burned, and the fire was brought under control by 4.14am."

Zulfadli confirmed that no one was inside the premises during the incident.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the losses are currently under investigation.
