Wall collapse not in Sabah, say police

KOTA KINABALU: The police have denied that a concrete wall collapse which crushed several parked cars occurred near a shopping mall here.

District police chief assistant commissioner Kasim Muda said that a one-minute and 18-second video has been circulating on social media since this afternoon.

It has been confirmed, however, that the incident did not occur here, he said.

Instead, he said the incident is believed to have taken place abroad but was shared by certain parties, claiming that it happened behind a shopping mall here.

"No landslide incidents have been reported so far.

"We noticed the viral video and, upon investigation, there have been no reports or incidents of a concrete wall collapse as shown on social media," he said when contacted today.

Following this, Kasim advised the public against spreading false information.

He said the irresponsible action could lead to various speculations and cause panic among the people.
