PENAMPANG: Headmasters are key to ensuring the success of digital transformation in schools, said Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
He said headmasters can drive change, inspire and guide teachers and students.
"The state government is committed to supporting initiatives and programmes aimed at improving digital infrastructure in schools.
"The digital era has brought changes to every aspect of our lives, including education. It is our responsibility to ensure the education system adapts to these changes.
"Digital education is not just about using technology in the management, teaching and learning processes.
"Digital education is essential for fostering a culture of using technology as an interactive tool to enhance the quality of learning, cultivate critical thinking and develop an innovative and creative generation."
He said this when officiating the annual general meeting and convention of the Sabah branch of the Malaysian Headmasters Association here.
On a related development, he said the government, through the Sabah Maju Jaya Development Plan, would implement initiatives to strengthen and accelerate the development of digital infrastructure in Sabah.
"These initiatives are aimed at speeding up the implementation of the Digital Government Strategic Plan in the state by 2025.
"The government completed the installation of all 300 Starlink devices across Sabah in May, in areas identified as having internet connectivity issues, as an interim solution for those areas."
