KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) today denied setting new parking rates based on three zones in the city.
"DBKL would like to inform the public that there is a post circulating on social media about new parking rates in Kuala Lumpur.
"DBKL wishes to deny this claim, and clarify that the post is an old one that has been recycled," it said on its Facebook page today.
According to the graphic attached to the post, parking charges in the city centre were listed as RM0.80 for the first hour, RM2 for the second hour, and RM3 for each subsequent hour.
For areas outside the city centre, such as Sentul, Sri Petaling, and Brickfields, the charges were stated as RM0.50 for the first hour and RM1.50 for each subsequent hour starting from Aug 1.
For outskirts areas like Segambut, Wangsa Maju, Setiawangsa, Sungai Besi, and Bandar Tun Razak, the rates were listed as RM0.50 for the first hour and RM1 for each subsequent hour starting from Aug 1.
