YAN: Strong currents from the Seri Perigi and Titi Hayun waterfalls following an hour of heavy rain caused flash floods in four villages at the foot of Gunung Jerai.
Yan Fire and Rescue Station chief Norhamidi Ali said the affected villages are Kampung Seberang Pekan Yan, Kampung Raga, Kampung Ruat and Kampung Titi Bakong.
"Rescuers from the Yan station are monitoring the situation, with the help of Rela members and volunteer firefighters.
"We advise residents in the affected areas to be prepared for any eventualities."
He urged the public to refrain from visiting waterfalls for the time being and to keep an eye on the water levels of nearby rivers.
