KULIM: Forty-eight people from 12 families were forced to be evacuated after their houses in Kampung Sungai Seluang here were hit by flash floods last night.
State Civil Defence Force deputy director Major Mohd Suhaimi Mohd Zain said the villagers were evacuated to the Masjid Sungai Seluang flood evacuation centre which was activated at 9.55pm yesterday.
It was reported yesterday that three districts in Kedah—Yan, Baling, and Kulim—were affected by flash floods following more than an hour of continuous rain.
