SHAH ALAM: A total of 100 flood victims from 35 families in the Kuala Selangor district have been evacuated to temporary evacuation centres at Institut Pengurusan Peladang (IPP) Tanjong Karang due to the high tide phenomena.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Operations Director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the centre remained active as of 7am today.
He added that the Tanjong Karang Fire and Rescue Station is monitoring flood operations.
"Other fire stations are also keeping an eye on the situation in Sabak Bernam, Pulau Indah, Port Klang, Teluk Panglima Garang, Kapar, Klang Utara, Sekinchan, and Banting," he said.
Currently, there are 54 personnel involved, with nine fire stations engaged in the effort.
Ahmad Mukhlis said that daily monitoring in Sabak Bernam includes areas such as Pantai Bagan Nakhoda Omar, Pantai Sungai Lang, Bagan Parit Baru, and the Air Tawar River sluice.
In Pulau Indah, monitoring focuses on the Teluk Nipah fishermen's jetty and Sungai Kembong.
In Port Klang, the areas include Pulau Ketam jetty, Yard Club jetty, the Marine Department, Kg Teluk Gong fishermen's jetty, Jalan KEM, and Glenmarie Cove.
In Teluk Panglima Garang, monitoring covers Simpang Teluk Pulau Carey fishermen's jetty, Seri Tanjung fishermen's jetty, Sijangkang, and RS Batu 8, Sijangkang.
For Tanjong Karang, areas include Perkampungan Bagan Pasir, Kg Sungai Kajang fishermen's village, Pantai Sungai Kajang, Sungai Kajang jetty, Kampung Baru Lembah Pantai, and the shoreline of Sungai Kajang.
In Kapar, monitoring focuses on Kg Tok Muda jetty, while Klang Utara includes Jalan Kunci Air, Pengkalan Nelayan, Jalan Genting, Sayang D Sayang jetty, and Pengkalan Sungai Keramat.
In Sekinchan, the monitoring areas are Kampung Penerangan, Pantai Redang, and Batu 23 Sungai Nibong.
Lastly, in Banting, the focus is on Pantai Morib Lama, Pantai Morib Baru, Pantai Kelanang, Kelanang jetty, Sungai Nangka, and Tongkah jetty.
