High turnout: 86.5pct of early voters cast ballots in Mahkota polls

KLUANG: The Election Commission (EC) recorded an 86.5 per cent turnout for early voters as all three polling centres officially closed at 5pm today.

EC chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun announced that 4,226 out of 4,911 eligible voters cast their ballots across 11 channels at the three polling stations.

At Dewan Mahkota within the Mahkota Army Camp, 3,313 voters, consisting of soldiers, officers, and their spouses, participated out of 3,865 registered voters, marking an 85.71 per cent turnout.

Additionally, 541 out of 645 military personnel and spouses at Batu 3 cast their votes at SK Sir Sultan Ibrahim, yielding an 85.12 per cent turnout.

Meanwhile, at Dewan Pengaman Zamrud in the Kluang district police station, 372 police officers and their spouses out of 401 registered voters, or 92.77 per cent, cast their early votes.
