KOTA KINABALU: A three-day event aimed at positioning Sabah as a premier destination for sports and adventure tourism will take place in the state next month.
Organised by the Sabah chapter of the Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS), Xplore Sabah will begin on Oct 11 and will be held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).
Xplore Sabah will feature over 100 exhibition booths showcasing vendors promoting products and services related to sports, outdoor adventure, travel, tourism, fitness, and wellness.
Some 20,000 visitors are expected to visit the event.
SICC chief executive officer Datuk Rosmawati Lasuki said the event represents a significant step forward to showcase Sabah's stunning natural beauty and adventure potential.
"Through this event, we aim to promote Sabah as a top destination for adventure and sports tourism, while also increasing its presence on the global stage.
"Xplore Sabah will have a significant impact on the state's economy, providing a major boost to the tourism sector and local businesses.
"By drawing in adventure and sports enthusiasts, we open up new opportunities for local enterprises and create jobs."
