Mahkota by-election: Polling centres closed

KLUANG: Voting for the Mahkota state by-election concluded at 6pm sharp today.

The Election Commission officials promptly closed the gates of the Sekolah Agama Gunung Lambak, marking the official end of the polling process.

The by-election saw about 50 per cent of the eligible voters turning out throughout the day to cast their ballots, with polling running smoothly at designated centres.

The results are expected to be tallied and announced by 9pm at Dewan Tunku Ibrahim Ismail.

The by-election was a straight fight between Barisan Nasional's Syed Hussien Syed Abdullah, and Perikatan Nasional's Mohamad Haizan Jaafar, or Coach Haizan.
