KLANG: Flash floods hit various parts of Klang, with videos circulating on social media capturing disruption of traffic and daily activities on Monday afternoon.
In one video by @kavichair1508 on TikTok, water levels rose by approximately 0.3m on Jalan Pulasan in Klang's Little India, reaching the undercarriage of cars parked along the roadside.
Pedestrians were forced to take shelter on higher pavements to avoid the floodwaters.
Another video by user @sweetpotatoeshouse showed floodwaters blocking an exit ramp towards Bandar Baru Klang on the West Coast Expressway (WCE) at Bukit Raja Klang.
The rising waters caused congestion and made it impossible for vehicles to exit the expressway safely.
Last Friday, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) had warned that the peninsular west coast and rural areas were expected to experience evening thunderstorms and strong winds from Sunday to Thursday due to the monsoon transition.
