KUALA LUMPUR: The home ministers and police chiefs from 15 countries are expected to attend the inaugural Asia International Security Summit and Expo (AISSE 25) from Jan 20-22 next year at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre.
Police management director Datuk Seri Azmi Abu Kassim said the event includes the inaugural Asean+ Security High Roundtable, co-organised by ASEANAPOL, as well as 5,000 trade visitors attending 30 forums and conference sessions.
Themed "Asia United: Charting the Future of Global Peace and Security Through Law Enforcement Collaboration", AISSE '25 will see 5,000 trade visitors attending 30 forums and conference sessions.
About 200 security organisations and industry stakeholders from Malaysia, Canada, Hong Kong, Latvia, Singapore, South Korea, United States, Taiwan, Turkiye and other nations will attend the summit and expo.
"AISSE '25 is poised to play a crucial role in strengthening relationships within the national security community.
"AISSE '25 aspires to emerge as the nation's preeminent internal security event, aiming to position itself as Asia's foremost platform for peace and security. This objective aligns seamlessly with the Home Ministry's commitment to fostering and advocating for peaceful nations.
"The critical Asean+ security roundtable is expected to convene approximiately 15 ministers of home affairs along with their respective police chiefs to deliberate on strategic and cross border security matters. An invitation has been extended to the prime minister of Malaysia to deliver the opening address at this distinguished gathering," said Azmi in a statement today.
The run-up to AISSE '25 kicked off last week when Azmi handed over an appointment letter for the organisation of AISSE 25 at the Home Ministry last week. He presented the document to Alpine Integrated Solution Sdn Bhd (AIS) chairman Tan Sri Mohd Khairul Adib Abd Rahman.
AISSE '25's main organising committee is co-chaired by Home Ministry secretary-general Datuk Awang Alik Jeman and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.
The summit feature an exhibition of advanced security technologies and peripherals from leading industry figures, including Afiintra (Advanced Jupiter), Blackberry, CREST, Dataport Technologies, EC Council, Eunomia Traffic, Gasmet Technologies (Asia) Ltd,
Germonizer, JHY Technologies, Magnet Forensic, Noble Forensic Technology, Samsung, Siren, and SWS Inntech Sdn Bhd, among others.
Azmi said the 200 security organisations and industry stakeholders represent leaders in in forensics, biometrics, personal safety equipment, ICT, cybersecurity and other internal security-related domains.
"AISSE '25 represents an invaluable platform for security enterprises worldwide to engage in substantive, face-to face dialogues. Moreover, it provides ample opportunities to cultivate and advance strategic collaborations between local and international security firms, reinforcing efforts to enhance regional and global security."
Azmi said colloabrations forged between Malaysia's police and their counterparts from around the world would also strengthen its capabilities.
"As the primary law enforcement agency in the nation, the Royal Malaysia Police bears the responsibility of safeguarding the populace against all forms of criminal threats and remains steadfast in enhancing its investigative, preventive, and crime-fighting capabilities. This will reinforce efforts to enhance regional and global security," he said.
