KUALA LUMPUR: Former minister-turned-DJ Khairy Jamaluddin says he will honour his "manifesto" promise of a Nasi Lemak feast after his win in the Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian (ABPBH).
"Let's eat together at Nasi Lemak Saleha, Ampang on Monday (Oct 14), from 7am to 10am. See you there," he said in a Facebook post.
Khairy, popularly known as KJ, won the Popular Radio Announcer award at the 36th ABPBH last night.
"The world of entertainment is not mine, I come from politics," he said in the post.
The former Umno Youth chief said the media and entertainment industry has given him a "home" following his political exile.
"Perhaps it started as an attempt at trolling or a prank, but Hot FM gave me a chance to be on air. They took a chance on me," he said, thanking Hot FM.
The former health minister said he was grateful to meet industry greats and learn from them.
"It's never too late to learn something new. Even for an old guy like me."
Khairy debuted on Hot FM's Bekpes Hot show on February 15 last year.
