12-year-old boy dies after suspected electrocution at school

SERDANG: A Year Six pupil has died, believed to have been electrocuted at a school here.

Serdang police chief Assistant Commissioner AA Anbalagan said the incident was reported to authorities at approximately 6.30pm yesterday (Dec 18).

"A 36-year-old local woman lodged a police report stating that she received an unconscious 12-year-old male patient," he said in a statement today (Dec 19).

"The victim is believed to have been electrocuted at a school in Serdang before being pronounced dead at 6.50pm," he added.

He said that investigations are ongoing.

"Police are awaiting for the autopsy report to determine the cause of death. The case has been classified as Sudden Death (SDR)," he said.

The public is advised against speculating or making comments that could disrupt the investigation.
