KUALA LUMPUR: Controversial preacher Firdaus Wong Wai Hung has removed a video on TikTok in which he allegedly advised minors on secretly converting to Islam.
His counsel Norazali Nordin said this while updating the High Court judge Datuk Amarjeet Singh today.
Amarjeet had ordered Firdaus Wong to remove the video after allowing a group of eight non-Muslim parents' ex-parte application on Oct 3.
He also fixed Oct 24 to hear Firdaus Wong's application to challenge the order.
Firdaus Wong came under scrutiny following a recent viral TikTok video in which he allegedly advised on how to convert non-Muslim school-going minors.
In the four-minute video, Firdaus Wong when responding to a question had allegedly said that non-Muslim minors should be welcomed to embrace Islam, but their conversion should not be registered or announced.
He had also shared advice on how minors could practice the religion discreetly if they feared for their safety.
In June, Petaling Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Shahrulnizam Ja'afar confirmed that an investigation had been opened in connection with the case.
It was reported that police had classified the case under Section 505(c) of the Penal Code, which stipulates that making statements with the intent to incite, or likely to incite, any class or community to commit an offence against another class or community is an offence.
The offence carries a penalty of up to two years' imprisonment, a fine, or both.
