#NSTviral: Happy birthday Bossku, says Rosmah in TikTok video

KUALA LUMPUR: A video of Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor delivering a heartfelt birthday message for her husband while he serves his sentence has emerged on TikTok.

In the video, shared by user @rosmahmansor2022 last Sunday, Rosmah is seen with a birthday cake encased in a box that she will take with her when she visits Datuk Seri Najib Razak in prison.

"On behalf of my family, I would like to thank this group for giving this cake to celebrate my husband Bossku's birthday, which was just on July 23.

"I will be visiting my husband shortly, and I will present this cake to him then," she said.

She added that "she'll get him to cut the cake but maybe with no candles," followed by a chuckle.

She continued to thank the group for staying loyal to Bossku (Najib), saying, "these are the faces who have shown up at court time and again to rally behind him."

"Please keep supporting him. He (Najib) really needs all our support. Let us pray that he will be released soon to have him returned to the rakyat and us (family)," she said.

The video has garnered over 826,000 views and elicited nearly 3,000 comments from TikTok users, mostly expressing support for Najib and Rosmah.

User AvDicu65 said, "Free Bossku and let this birthday gift him freedom at last."

Similarly, user Khamis Naiman 01 said, "Bossku remains the best in our (people's) hearts who has helped so many youngsters learn to read the Quran."

One user, syahir, noted, "There's a lot of Najib fans here, it seems."

The account, which claims to be the "Official TikTok Account of Rosmah Mansor," has nearly 16,000 followers and has been posting videos of Rosmah and Najib since 2022.

Before the most recent video, there was an earlier post wishing Najib a happy birthday.

Currently serving his sentence in Kajang Prison, the former prime minister was initially given a 12-year prison term and fined RM120 million after being found guilty in his corruption case involving RM42 million of SRC International Sdn Bhd.

However, the Federal Territories Pardons Board, chaired by the then King, Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, reduced this to six years' imprisonment and a fine of RM50 million.

Najib would be released in 2028, though prominent lawyer Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla has said the former prime minister would be eligible to apply for parole next year after serving half his sentence.
