KUALA LUMPUR: Firefighters cleaning up an oil spill on a road have earned widespread praise online for their tireless efforts.
A TikTok video by firefighter @ijatceloreng shows a group of firefighters stepping down from their fire truck at a busy roundabout. They quickly assemble at a section of the road slick with oil spills, ready to take action.
The firefighters spread sawdust over the dried oil spills, then use brooms to sweep away the sawdust along with the remnants of the oil.
Throughout the clean-up, they maintain a light-hearted atmosphere, cracking jokes and displaying their camaraderie.
One firefighter said that their role involves much more than just battling blazes, while another admits that they were unaware of the various tasks, such as cleaning oil spills, that would be part of their job during training.
The video ends with the firefighters directing traffic to prevent motorists from driving over the hazardous sand and oil.
"Firefighters also take care of traffic," one firefighter says.
The clip has garnered over 576,900 views and 42,800 likes, as netizens express their admiration for the firefighters' unwavering commitment.
