PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Scouts Association is undergoing a brand refresh to ensure it remains relevant and appealing to the community.
National Chief Scout Maj Gen (B) Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Zin Bidin said the Scout movement has long served as a platform for young people to develop character while shaping a disciplined generation.
"As Chief Scout, I am truly heartened to see the dedication and commitment of everyone here to support this noble effort.
"With over 57 million members worldwide, we are entering a new decade filled with challenges.
"Recently, the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) launched the 'Triennial Plan 2025-2027' to ensure Scouts remain relevant and continue to make a global impact," he said in a speech during the Malam Amal Dinner 2024.
Also present were Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul and Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.
The dinner aimed to raise funds to support the activities and management of the organisation.
Zin said the event also served as a platform for the public and relevant organisations to gain deeper insight into the Scouts' mission and role in nurturing Malaysia's youth.
Meanwhile, he added, the Scouts have launched various strategic initiatives to ensure their growth, including the introduction of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) elements and sustainable development goals (SDGs) into its programmes to better prepare members for the modern world.
"We hope that with continued support from the public and relevant organisations, Scouts will continue to play a vital role in producing not only academically excellent youth but also those with strong interpersonal and leadership skills."
