ISKANDAR PUTERI: A bus carrying factory workers had its windows shattered after it hit tree branches, and not by someone throwing stones, said police.
A 40-second clip showed the passengers surrounded by broken glass, with some claiming that stones had been thrown at the bus, causing the windows to break.
Iskandar Puteri Police chief Assistant Commissioner M. Kumarasan today (Oct 19) denied the claim.
The bus ferrying workers was heading for the Tuas Second Link Immigration, Customs, and Quarantine Complex when the incident happened at 8.45am on Firday (October 18).
"The driver veered off the road and hit overgrown tree branches at the Tanjung Pelepas Highway, which caused the windows to be shattered," he said.
A 28-year-old male passenger sustained injuries.
