KUALA LUMPUR: Deepavali serves as a powerful reminder of the strength that lies in Malaysia's diversity, said Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
The DAP secretary-general said it showcases how various cultures, traditions and beliefs create a rich and resilient tapestry woven through generations,
In his Deepavali message, Loke said Malaysia's progress and innovation are driven by the diversity celebrated by its people.
"From the harmonious blend of languages heard in our communities to the shared customs that bring us together, we are living proof that unity in diversity is our greatest strength.
"This unity, built by our forefathers, was born out of a common goal; to fight for independence, set aside differences, and create a nation where every Malaysian, regardless of background, can thrive."
Loke said as the inheritors of the legacy, it is the shared responsibility of Malaysians to carry forward the wisdom of those who came before them.
"By upholding inclusion and mutual respect, we ensure that the very fabric of Malaysia remains strong and that progress reaches every corner of our society."
He said as the world increasingly polarised, Malaysia stands as a testament to the power of diversity and shared goals.
"May this Deepavali inspire us all to deepen our respect for one another, foster unity and reignite our commitment to lead our nation forward.
"Together, let us show the world that people of myriad identities and backgrounds can come together, contribute their unique strengths, and strive for the greater good.
"To all Malaysians celebrating Deepavali, I wish you and your families a joyous, safe and blessed festival. May the light of Deepavali guide us all toward peace, harmony, and prosperity."
