JOHOR BARU: The final day of the Karnival Jom Heboh (KJH) Johor 2024 saw a lively turnout, with visitors arriving as early as 8am at the KJH Johor site located at Angsana Johor Baru Mall.
The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Berhad (NSTP) booth, featuring Pet Zootopia, was a major attraction, displaying over 25 exotic animals, including pythons and parrots, which visitors could pet and take photos with.
NSTP's Business Development and Special Projects manager Tengku Kaifi Mirza Tuan Cherit said more than 2,000 visitors had visited the NSTP Pet Zootopia booth by noon.
"There was evident joy on the faces of visitors, especially children, after visiting the NSTP Pet Zootopia booth.
"In addition to learning and having fun, visitors were also given prizes through a simple quiz.
"Among the main attractions at Pet Zootopia are the common marmoset, one of the world's smallest monkeys from Brazil, and the prairie dog, or American ground squirrel, from Mexico.
"With an entrance ticket priced at RM20 for a family of four, visitors not only get to see unique and exotic animals, but also gain new knowledge about the species on display, especially regarding their habitats and interesting facts provided at the exhibition.
"In addition to Pet Zootopia, we're also organising the NSTP Versatile Host Search for talented children under 12 in hosting, acting or singing."
He said visitors to the NSTP booth also received free copies of the three newspapers — 'Berita Harian', 'Harian Metro', and 'New Straits Times'.
Visitors are given a goodie bag containing snacks, drinks and a kilogramme of sugar.
"We extend our thanks to our sponsors over these three days, including Nibou (NBI) Drinme, Nestle, and CSR Malaysia."
Meanwhile, KJH 2024 project director Eileen Lim said more than 300,000 visitors flocked to the carnival site over the three-day event.
She said Johor was the sixth location for KJH this year and was an annual must-visit destination.
"The KJH fans in Johor are one of a kind, with an extraordinary and enthusiastic response. Visitors kept coming to the KJH site from morning until night.
"The first KJH concert on Saturday night attracted over 20,000 attendees, who enjoyed exciting performances by Sofarz, Ayu Damit, Suki Low, Izzue Islam, Sufian Suhaimi, and Nabila Razali.
"We also expect a huge turnout for tonight's concert, with performances by The Dolla, Projektor Band, Lil J, Dalia Farhana, Syamel, Wany Hasrita, and Mark Adam."
Eileen also said KJH Johor 2024 is deeply grateful for the support of the state government, Johor Baru City Council, Angsana Johor Baru Mall and the police.
KJH 2024, organised by Media Prima Bhd, previously captivated visitors in five states: Sarawak, Putrajaya, Melaka, Terengganu, and Penang.
KJH 2024 will continue to enthrall visitors at its final stop in Sabah next month.
