Safety drill at KLIA Terminal 2, passengers advised to stay calm

KUALA LUMPUR: Passengers travelling through Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 2 today are advised to be aware of a safety drill taking place at various locations within the terminal.

In a Facebook post, Malaysia Airports announced that the 'Ex-Gempar' exercise will involve several key areas, including Check-in Counter Z, the Domestic Arrival Hall, the gateway@klia2 area, and the kerbside at Level 3 – Departure.

Malaysia Airports reassured passengers that flight operations will continue as normal and there will be no service disruptions.

"However, passengers may hear simulated gunfire and see security personnel from the police and auxiliary police on duty as part of the drill. Passengers are urged to remain calm, as the exercise is a routine safety training activity."

Malaysia Airports also requested that the public refrain from taking photos or videos during the drill to avoid spreading misinformation that could cause unnecessary panic or confusion.

"We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of all passengers as we work to ensure the continued safety and security of the airport," it said.
