Missing pregnant mother, child found safe at KLIA

KUANTAN: An eight-month-pregnant woman and her son, who were reported missing after failing to return to their home in Kampung Chendering here yesterday, have been found safe.

Nur Nadia Mohd Zakaria, 29, and her four-year-old son Aydan Noah Mohd Shahmi were spotted at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), some 305 km from here, at 2pm today.

Kuantan district police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Mohd Zahari Wan Busu said the airport's auxiliary police officers found the duo inside the premises.

"They have been taken to the KLIA police station. Both mother and son are in good health, and their family members have been informed," he said today.

Wan Mohd Zahari said it remains unclear why Nur Nadia, who has a history of anxiety, drove her Perodua Axia to KLIA.

Earlier today, Nur Nadia's sister, Adlin Mohd Zakaria, said her younger sibling and nephew went missing after going to buy food at a supermarket along Jalan Pintasan Kuantan at noon yesterday.

Adlin said the family became worried when her sister and nephew failed to return at 5pm and started searching for her.

Nur Nadia could not be reached as she did not bring her mobile phone with her, forcing the family to lodge a police report at 8pm yesterday.
