PETALING JAYA: The Nielsen Consumer & Media View (CMV) Survey 1, 2024, conducted for the July to June period, revealed that local radio stations under Media Prima Audio have continued to perform well.
Malay-language station Hot FM recorded the country's highest listenership with 3.8 million tuning in weekly for its blend of popular music, entertainment and talk segments. This was marked by a 12.3 per cent growth during the 9am to 11.59am time slot.
Leading English station Fly FM reported a 12.8 per cent increase in its audience with 2.4 million weekly listeners. Known for its commitment to local artists, Fly FM regularly blends its showcase of homegrown talent with coverage of relatable topics.
Meanwhile, Kool 101, with its focus on nostalgic music and storytelling, saw a 65.4 per cent increase to 387,000 listeners per week. The station marked a significant rise in listeners during its 9am to 11.59am time slot.
East Coast-focused Molek FM added 202,000 listeners, reaching a weekly average of 1.07 million listeners, and Eight FM maintained its presence in the Chinese-language segment with 363,000 listeners per week.
