KUALA LUMPUR: The Public Accounts Committee will summon Attorney-General Datuk Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar over the government's contract with Bestinet for the foreign workers' centralised management system (FWCMS).
PAC chairman Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said Dusuki sits on the FWCMS' central committee board.
Other committee board members who will be summoned include Treasury Secretary-General Datuk Johan Mahmood Merican, Home Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Awang Alik Jeman and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.
In a statement, Mas Ermieyati said the PAC was of the view that the government was not careful in its decision to sign the contract with Bestinet in September.
"The high charges imposed would only burden employers and foreign workers."
She said explanations and testimonies from committe members for the PAC to understand the government's decision to sign the contract with Bestinet.
It was previously reported that the government had extended Bestinet's contract for the FWCMS.
The earlier six-year contract ended on May 31.
