SPM cert reprint service a hit at Madani govt anniversary event

KUALA LUMPUR: The Education Ministry's Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia certificate reprinting service at the Madani government second anniversary event has proven to be a hit.

Examination Board assessment policy sector deputy director Noor Fadzilah Md Radzi said the normal fee for the service was RM30, but visitors to the Education Ministry booth at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre could a copy of their SPM certificate for only RM10.

As of noon today, nearly 200 applicants received their reprinted certificates.

"Most of the people attending, we've noticed, really need a copy of their SPM certificates, as many have lost theirs.

"Currently, due to the changes in the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA), which requires them to upload a copy of their SPM certificate, they genuinely need this document to upload onto the SSPA system. Many have come for that reason."

Fadzilah also said there were also college and university graduates, and jobseekers in their late 20s to early 30s.

"When they seek better jobs, they need a copy of the certificate. Many of them had misplaced their original certificates.

"Yesterday, we even had an applicant who was more than 70 years old. The applicant wanted a copy of the Malaysian Certificate of Education, but purely for sentimental reasons, as the original had been damaged by termites."

Arif Luqman Azmi, 26, praised the fast service at the Education Ministry booth.

"A friend told me that I could print it here. I'm satisfied with the service… it was quick and efficient," he said.

Vee Sim, 57, stopped by the booth to get a copy a her certificate after paying a traffic summons.

"I paid my summonses earlier. After that, I was on TikTok and saw that they offered SPM certificate reprints.

"With the cost being only RM10, it encouraged me to obtain a copy of my examination certificate, which I had lost."
