KUANTAN: The electronic land administration system (e-Tanah), an integrated digital land management system, will be implemented in Pahang starting in 2027.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the federal government has allocated RM128 million to implement the e-Tanah system, which will allow the public to check the status of their land, view rates, and make land tax payments online.
In response to a supplementary question from Datuk Seri Mohd Johari Hussain (Barisan Nasional [BN] - Tioman) on the status of the system in Pahang, Wan Rosdy explained that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, along with the Pahang government, is in the process of drafting the concession agreement.
"Once finalised, the Pahang legal advisor will review the contract, and the system will be developed six months after the contract is signed next year. We expect the system to be completed within 24 months and available for public use by 2027.
"Once implemented, the system will help expedite land-related matters and attract investors to the state. The comprehensive data provided by the system will help prevent discrepancies and enhance land tax collection," he said during the question-and-answer session at the Pahang state assembly at Wisma Sri Pahang today.
Wan Rosdy added that the e-Tanah concession agreement, which will last 14 years, will allow the system to be accessed without time or location constraints.
It was reported several years ago that the e-Tanah system, currently used in several states, aims to modernise real estate facilities in line with the latest technological developments.
Meanwhile, Pahang Public Works, Transport, and Health Committee chairman Datuk Ir. Razali Kassim said sub-package 6A, between Sertik and Karak on the Lingkaran Tengah Utama (formerly known as the Central Spine Road), will be completed in 2026.
In response to a question from V. Arumugam (BN-Sabai) on the status of the proposed Bentong-Pelangai package 6, Razali said the 11.35 km stretch between Sertik and Karak, which began on July 12, 2022, is scheduled to be completed by 28 Nov 2026.
"The project is currently 34 per cent complete and ahead of schedule. The remaining sub-packages, namely 6B (Karak-Kampung Sungai Perdak), 6C (Kampung Sungai Perdak-Pulka junction), and 6D (Pulka junction-Simpang Pelangai), have yet to receive approval from the federal government.
"The Ministry of Works is also conducting a feasibility study for a new highway from Simpang Pelangai, Pahang, to Putrajaya to alleviate congestion on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway. The study will determine the implementation of sub-packages 6B, 6C, and 6D along the Lingkaran Tengah Utama," he said.
On Nov 4, Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan told Parliament that a study on an alternative route from Simpang Pelangai to Putrajaya had been approved with an allocation of RM2.5 million, with completion scheduled for Aug 12 next year.
