Landslide hits houses, workshop in Kuala Krai

KUALA KRAI: A landslide hit two houses and a workshop at Jalan Latarex in Kampung Laloh here last night.

No casualty was reported in the 9pm incident.

Kuala Krai Fire and Rescue station operation commander Khairul Duha Abdul Halim said five firemen rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 9.56pm.

"Upon arriving at the scene about 30 minutes later, we found that two houses and a workshop were hit by the landslide.

"No one was inside the premises when the incident happened," he said.

The landslide was believed to have occurred due to the non-stop heavy rains that hit Kelantan since Monday.

The flood in Kelantan continues to worsen, with more than 82,000 people being evacuated this morning.

The victims, from 25,520 families, have been moved to 279 flood relief centres in ten districts.
